“I couldn’t understand why it was easy for me to transform any home into a luxury sanctuary, yet could not find lasting peace within my own mind”
Jen Pen
Designing Life from the Inside-Out
“For over 15 years as an Interior Designer I created beautiful, harmonious, luxurious spaces. As I watched my clients fall in love with their home reimagined, it gave me much joy and satisfaction. Yet for many years in my private life I felt trapped in an exhausting cycle of anxiety & depression.
Each day I’d zip on the “Mary Poppins” suit to solo parent, be in community and lead the creative direction of my Property Styling business. Behind the scenes I was navigating cycles of anxious highs and crashing lows, complex PTSD, deep grief and at times a painful sense of not belonging to anyone or anything.
You see, about a year after having my baby, I was diagnosed with Post Natal Depression, however no matter the drug or the support, I found myself rapidly and silently suffocating under the weight of responsibilities, underlying shame and childhood trauma, which seemed to seep through every aspect of my being day after day.
On the outside, I was high functioning, successful and happy, however most days I dragged a heavy weight within me that felt like moving through a thick soup of brokenness on the inside.
Behind the success and all the magnificent spaces I created lay an endless battle within; a maze of doctor visits, mis-diagnoses, medications & therapists that often left me feeling more hopeless than healed.”
Jen Pen - The Interior Re-Designer & Repairenting Coach
Just as a well-designed home transforms how we live, a consciously designed mind transforms who we become.
Determined to find a way out, I dove into psychology, gut health, neuroscience, and relational design, studying under visionaries such as Dr. Gabor Maté and Dr. Daniel J. Siegel. I was on an exploration to find out how the mind works and how our environment impacts our development, our thoughts, behaviour and essentially our life outcomes,
Inspired by Dr Bruce Lipton’s "The Biology of Belief", and driven by an unwavering determination to break free and create lasting change, I immersed myself in energy psychology, neuroscience and somatic mind-body connection, bridging the critical and often vast gap between conscious awareness and limiting subconscious narratives.
After gaining a deep understanding of how the subconscious mind works, I found I could easily and painlessly change what & who I believed myself to be. Re-writing the narrative on false and inherited beliefs that I had latched onto.
After years on what seemed like “the never ending self improvement project”, I finally discovered this crucial insight:
Gaining conscious awareness is essential to our understanding & healing, yet the hidden subconscious narratives will continue to dominate our decisions & sabotage outcomes if we do not reveal and heal them.
“Healing childhood wounding, releasing trauma triggers and dissolving the controlling power-over narratives in our psyche, is a renovation for the mind, body & soul.
After coaching hundreds of individuals, couples, and families using the methods and insights learned over the years, I refined my offerings into powerful programs that create sustainable subconscious change.
My facilitation integrates somatic mind-body connection with attachment theory and neuroscience. Along with lived experience and intuition, I help people not just break free from their past, but fall in love with a life re-imagined, fundamentally re-designing lives from the inside-out.”
Taking a good look inside and truly facing our fears, addictions, trauma, and grief, is one of the most courageous things we can ever do.
Those who dare to release the resistance and surrender to what must be seen, felt, and understood, get to discover one of the most profound and rewarding gifts of all.
Freedom!
